Kapa Haka Kura Tuarua 2010 is the National Secondary Schools Kapa Haka Competition, held in the Rotorua Energy Events Centre from Tuesday 27 July till Friday 30 July.
There will be 41 kapa haka groups competing from throughout New Zealand,each of which will be given a 25 minute performance. Each group will be judged on leadership, costumes, choral, entry, traditional item, action song, poi and exit.
Objectives:
1.To encourage and promote participation and the pursuit of excellence in kapa haka.
2.To ensure all kapa perform in an optimum environment in regards to lighting, sound, staging and atmosphere.
3.To promote the awareness, importance and appreciation of kapa haka.
4.To provide a professional development component for teachers and tutors of kapa haka.
